enigma1. ENIGMA – Delicious everyday food

Put the kids in the carrier bike and set off toward Trianglen on Østerbro. Here you will find ENIGMA, the new museum of communication in Copenhagen (opens in 2020, but the café is open now) and you are invited to dinner every Thursday, where Meyers’ Kitchen make the food and you make the conversation and the fun and play between the longtables.

Tip! ENIGMA also serves brunch on the weekends and lunch during the week.

absalon2. Absalon – Longtables and high ceilings with room for everybody

On every evening of the week, the former church Absalon on Vesterbro have communal eating. It is spacious, there is room for the kids to play and you sit by longtables along with a lot of other people. The dish of the day is served on platters which each table share with each other. On Monday and Wednesday, the dish is vegetarian. The atmosphere is relaxed and homely and people of every age dine with you!

3. Madglad – Casual and cozy

Madglad on Vesterbro offers fresh and homemade food and you can choose a new dish every day and a vegetarian alternative is always available. Look forward to delicious meals such as lasagna, chili con carne, risotto and other goodies. The casual and homely atmosphere allows room for the kids and their rackets and play all while you enjoy a tasty dinner. You will find kitchen rolls on the tables, no fancy napkins, and you clear the tables yourselves afterwards.

Tip! You can order the food “to go” and on Saturdays you can enjoy a buffet at the cafeteria.

baglokalet4. Baglokalet – A hidden gem

From the outside, this establishment looks like an ordinary football club, namely Fremad Amager. However, when you walk through the door and take a sharp right, you will the most pleasant, child-friendly restaurant. The food is great and is always made by fresh produce and there are tasty dishes for the kids. And most importantly, the beautiful view of the long, green football fields is just perfect to admire while filling your bellies!   

Tip! Try Baglokalet’s burger for 50 kr.

Price: Dinner for children 35 kr./adults 70 kr.

cafe sonja5. Café Sonja – Where the children are in focus

Café Sonja is named after the Danish 1960’s tv-success Sonja fra Saxogade and here you will find a corner specifically fitted for children, appetizing child-friendly food and room for the whole family. Every day you can get a delicious hot meal, such as the Danish boller i karry (meatballs in curry sauce), stegt flæsk (fried pork) and much else, and on Tuesdays they offer a vegetarian buffet. During the winter, the café closes at 5pm on Thursdays and Fridays. You can also buy breakfast and lunch at the café.

Tip! Are you on maternity leave? Bring you fellow new mothers, maybe from you mothers’ group, into the café’s family room, where there is room for the children to play while you enjoy a latte.
